Teaches, or gives the answer?
The child reads stories and does the puzzles and activities in the issue. A magazine does not solve a homework problem.

Partly verified
These are print subscriptions billed to an adult and mailed home. The shop pages we read did not describe a child login. We did not review a privacy policy for any Highlights app.
What we could not verify
- Ages 6–12 are not a grade list. This directory includes kindergarten through 6th grade and leaves 7th and 8th off. A 12-year-old can be in 7th grade, which is past the stated age range.
- The shop sells other products, including books and activity boxes, at their own prices.
- brainPLAY is a puzzle magazine. It is not a full subject curriculum.
